The appetite for consuming online video content in the UK is at an all-time high. With nearly 73% of Britons watching some type of programming online, broadcasters of all sizes are moving quickly to get their on-air content available anywhere, anytime, and on any device.
We’re proud to say that the newest to the fold is none other than the UK’s largest local TV broadcaster, Made Television. Made TV chose Piksel to help them launch their first ever Video on Demand (VOD) catch up service, On View, using the Piksel Digital Enterprise™ platform. Later in the year we’ll also be helping them rollout live streaming too. This is regional TV with no limits!
This is such a great project to be apart of - a ‘match ‘Made in (TV) heaven, if you will, (sorry, we couldn’t resist!) Here’s what David McCormack, Made Television’s Chief Operating Officer had to say about working with us:
“Piksel was the natural choice to bring on board to help us launch our online offering in record time and ahead of schedule. We evaluated the market and felt Piksel had the strongest solution to meet our needs, offering us the ability to use the same platform to manage live broadcasts and VOD. Not only does Piksel have a history of platform stability and reliability, but its business model is extremely flexible, allowing us to monetize in the way we want and get up and running quickly.”
Made TV’s service is underpinned by the Piksel Palette – a modular suite of video services that are designed to tailor a video publishing solution, without compromising the need to scale as your audience grows. We’ll also be providing broadcast-grade 24/7 live streaming and monitoring support to ensure the service can be seen far and wide, at any time day or night.
