AMSTERDAM, NL, SEPTEMBER 15th, 2014 -- Piksel, a global provider of video monetization software and solutions, today announced that Piksel Mosaic, its proof-of-concept application unveiled at IBC 2014, has won Newbay Media’s Best of Show award from TVBEurope. The awards honor outstanding products launched at the show and were announced today following judges’ booth visits over the weekend.

The winning application brings together all forms of content into one simple browsing experience, using a tile-based interface which retains an identical look-and-feel whether accessed on a TV, smartphone, laptop, desktop or tablet. Piksel Mosaic is built on context-based recommendations, intuitively pushing content to the user based on an understanding of what the user likes to access, when, and on what device.

Piksel Mosaic has been designed to take the pain out of content discovery in today’s connected world, which is seeing a rapid rise in the number of personal devices. By offering a hyper-personalized service to the individual, it recognizes that content choices are being increasingly driven by context.

Mark Christie, Chief Technology Officer, Piksel commented: “Piksel Mosaic is a revolutionary new way of providing consumers with the right content choices throughout the day, regardless of the device they are using. We’re thrilled to have the concept awarded Newbay’s Best in Show at IBC. We believe that hyper-personalization is the next evolution in multi-screen content delivery, and are proud to have been recognized today for our innovation in this area, based on our experience designing user-centric content experiences for nearly 20 years.”

Piksel Mosaic’s underlying infrastructure allows the app to evolve as the individual’s content preferences and habits change, monitoring and remembering every user action. The app creates an integrated ecosystem which allows users to access video content, email, social media and other personal information on all of their connected devices through a single access point. Based on the Piksel Palette modular infrastructure, the solution has been designed with flexibility in mind, enabling the agile ingest of content sources and delivery to more devices.

The IBC 2014 Best of Show Awards are run by Newbay Media and winners are chosen separately by the publications it produces, which include TVBEurope.
